This series of engines was developed to meet environmental requirements for Tier 4 (2025R) emission requirements by featuring lower levels of both exhaust and emissions.

* As per 97/68/EC ISO at rated speed.

Yanmar TNV Series engine offers these features:

  • Economical cast-in block cylinder design for good cooling and long life
  • Indirect fuel injection on the 2025R uses a pre-combustion chamber to give the engine a smooth and quiet operation
  • Direct fuel injection on the 2032R injects fuel on top of the pistons and allows for more efficient combustion and fuel economy
  • Aluminum alloy piston with built-in steel struts are lightweight to reduce connection rod bearing loads and provide good heat transfer characteristics
    • Design permits tighter tolerances and neutralizes expansion of the piston, thereby reducing blow-by gas and generating less noise from the piston slap
    • Higher top rings on the piston and a thinner head gasket greatly reduces the volume of unburned waste gases and increases combustion efficiency
  • Timing gear teeth have a roll-off profile giving almost no clash, no noise, and no backlash
  • Special flywheel flange seals flywheel air turbulence noise inside the flywheel housing
  • High-torque reserve provides plenty of power under heavy load yet retains excellent fuel economy
  • Fuel filter with replaceable element
  • Full-pressure lubrication system provides filtered oil under pressure to all vital engine parts
  • Glow plugs on the 2025R provide quick starts in temperatures down to 0° F. (Optional engine coolant heater attachment will assist starting under more extreme conditions.)
  • Air intake heater cold starting aid on the 2032R provides quick starts in temperatures down to
0° F. (Optional engine coolant heater attachment will assist starting under more extreme conditions.)
  • Auto-bleeding fuel system means there is no special bleeding required if the tractor runs out of fuel
  • This system will self-prime the injection pump, lines, and injectors, providing fast fuel recovery
  • Key start and shutoff eliminates fuel shutoff knob
  • Electric solenoid shuts fuel supply off immediately when key is turned off
  • See-through coolant recovery tank permits operator to check coolant level without removing radiator cap
Dry-type air cleanerDry-type air cleaner
  • Dry-type air cleaner (1) with safety element (2) keeps dirt and other contaminants out of the engine
    • Safety element (second filter) will protect engine if primary filter would develop a leak
    • Protects engine when servicing primary filter
  • Air cleaner service indicator is standard equipment on all models and alerts owner as to when to service the air filter
  • The one-piece hood can be easily raised for full access to engine compartment
  • Front grille screen and sides on one-piece hood provide excellent flow of air to the engine compartment
  • Sealed radiator compartment keeps trash and debris on outside of hood
  • Improved fuel fill is relocated to right side of hood allows easier refueling
  • Horizontal exhaust discharges fumes away from the operator station, reducing noise and improving operator visibility and comfort.

Twin Touch™ foot controlsTwin Touch™ foot controls

The 2025R and 2032R hydrostatic (HST) Tractors feature a foot-controlled hydrostatic transmission.

  • Low pedal effort makes the transmission very easy to operate
  • Fluid under pressure transmits engine power to the drive wheels through a hydraulic pump and motor
  • The hydrostatic drive unit functions both as a clutch and transmission

Twin Touch foot controls allow selecting both speed and direction of travel with a touch of the toe. Ideally suited for jobs where productivity is a must, such as loader or mower applications.

  • Infinite ground speeds, even at full throttle, to match the job
  • No clutching for fast direction changes
  • Faster, easier, and more precise to operate than competitive tractors with treadle pedal design (toe-heel)
Provides high torque for start up
  • Reduces powertrain shock loads
  • Large rubber foot pedals were designed for operator comfort and allow for convenient operation of the tractor
Speed range leverSpeed range lever

Transmission has two speeds - hi and lo range.

  • The range lever is located next to the left-hand fender (A), conveniently within reach of the operator.

Kanzaki® HST transmission is used for reliable operation.

Durability features include:

1) Large forged one-piece trunnion shaft with larger support bearings that reduce vibration and noise.
2) Innovative transaxle combines an HST transmission, gear reduction axle, and clutch.
3) Pressure side filtration allows using a finer mesh filter (10 micron) than suction filtration systems used on many competitive tractors.
4) Charge pump used to deliver oil to transmission (some competitive tractors use one pump for transmission and hydraulics).
5) Oil cooler cools transmission oil for longer transmission life.

iMatch Quick-HitchiMatch Quick-Hitch
iMatch Quick-Hitch with rotary cutter hookupiMatch Quick-Hitch with rotary cutter hookup

One of the greatest operator concerns involves difficulty in attaching tractor implements. John Deere has addressed this issue with the iMatch Quick-Hitch.

The iMatch Quick-Hitch provides easy hookup and a guaranteed fit for all Category 1 implements designed to meet the ASAE Category 1 Standard S278.6 for quick-attach hitches.

  • All implements require a set of bushings in order for the attachment to fit and work properly with the iMatch Quick-Hitch. One set of bushings comes with the iMatch Quick-Hitch.

NOTE: In the above picture with the rotary cutter, the bushing set BW15056 is shown. These bushings allow the hooks on the iMatch and the pins on the rotary cutter to fit together properly. All other implements (box blades, tillers, rear blades, etc.) will require a set of bushings to enlarge the pin to fit with the iMatch hooks. Bushings of different lengths can be found in the parts system or through a bushing supplier (see dimensions below).

  • Upper bushing
    • Inside diameter: 1.93 to 1.96 cm (0.76 to 0.77 in.)
    • Outside diameter: 3.15 to 3.18 cm (1.24 to 1.25 in.)
  • Lower bushings
    • Inside diameter: 2.24 to 2.26 cm (0.88 to 0.89 in.)
    • Outside diameter: 3.63 to 3.66 cm (1.43 to 1.44 in.)

2015r with loader, backhoe, mid mower and pallet forks

2/5

Oil leak at rear of tractor. Loader leaks down quickly! From a height of 41" the bucket is on the the ground in 6 minutes. Raising the 3 point lever causes engine to labor. Will also cause independent mid hydraulics to raise by itself. Loader bucket is difficult to put on. Pallet forks fits perfectly as does my son's bucket from his 1025r Tractor was delivered with nuts and bolts loose and some pins missing. It you contact service is always 2 to 3 weeks before we can work on it. Yet they delivered it in that condition.

Pros

  • none

Cons

  • poor quality control.
  • very expensive
  • service told me because i bought it in the
  • spring they were rushing through every thing

so far so good

5/5

doing various jobs around my 3 acres, i find this 2025 a nice size tractor. i have the loader and the oh so convenient backhoe attached fulltime. i find myself using the backhoe more. yes, you can stall it if you try grabbing more than its meant for. but just know the limitations of this size tractor and you can flogg it all day long and get a lot done without breaking a sweat. i just dont want a huge tractor. been there done that. if i trade in a few years i most likely will stay with J D. and move up to 2032 for that little extra asskick. otherwise it will be the same. such a good product. i used to be a design engineer for Cat and we always had to watch out for J D outdoing us for durability. J D is a good value for the money.

I have 2025 from 2014. I have been very happy with it.

5/5

I use have 350 hours on a 2025 from 2014. Mow, bushhog, load and grade gravel road. It has served me well. I keep in garage and have no issues with rust. Still looks great. If I got a new one I would get a bigger one I think. You can never have too much tractor.

tough and resilient

5/5

Bought this tractor 3 years ago to manage farming one acre and mowing several acres of rough field. I've beat the heck out of it with no problems and it continues to perform well. It has excellent 4WD and is capable of most small tractor duties. The front loader has been a life saver in preparing our dirt road annually.

Pros

  • tough has not broken ever
  • excellent 4wd

Cons

  • have broken signal lights by mowing near branches

Mean little tractor

5/5

I was raised on a Texas Cotton farm and ran BIG Deere stuff (200-300HP tractors)all my youth years. Grew up moved to town only to find I really missed the country. Bought a small piece of land (30 acres)and needed a small tractor to work it. Purchased a 2025r with a front end loader, 48" Brush bull shredder and box blade. This little tractor is a beast! I dug a 20x40' pit 6' deep in near solid rock with the front end loader and teeth down on the box blade. I would break up the rock with a hand jack hammer into car hood or so size pieces and haul em out. I was VERY surprised how much power this tractor has and how much you can push in 4 wheel drive. The 48" brush bull with swinging hammer blades will mow ANYTHING smaller than 1.5" in diameter, Our place WAS covered in heavy thick central Texas Brush and Acasia bushes. This setup will mow em down flat in one slow pass. Prickly pear cactus is no problem either. I purchased a Frontier brand 54" rock bucket later that allows you to grub Cactus and move softball and bigger size rock with ease while letting the dirt fall through the "teeth". I just bought a 62D belly mower but have not used it yet as it id Jan 2nd as I type this review. I would highly recommend this tractor. I would say to any owner to put some good tire sealant in the tires as they will be flat if you run them in Mesquite or Cactus much. The tires are sorta thin IMO. Having said that I beat on mine pretty hard in sharp rock under heavy loads and haven tore a tire up yet...

Pros

  • easy on fuel

Cons

  • needs thicker/heaiver tires

2025R

1/5

I ordered a 2025R with backhoe and bucket and a 54 inch mower deck. I have had the backhoe rebuilt after a hour of use do to excessive leak down. I would disconnect it and it would just bleed off to the ground making it hard to reconnect even if I tried right after I took it off. The backhoe has no power and will not dig through the smallest roots. Tractor did not have the power to back up a slight incline with a full bucket of topsoil just wouldn't move. The drive on and off mower did not work as advertised when the John Deere mechanic was showing me how to use it the mower caught the bucket stand and bent a number of brackets up front. The neutral safety switch has no light and is hard to get to engage half the time the tractor is killed when you get off when you think you have it engaged.

2025R Great tractor from mowing to food plots and landscaping

5/5

I purchased John Deere 2025R. I carefully reviewed and looked at the 1025R. And must admit i was impressed. Nice little tractor. Loader, backhoe, mower I thought wow what more could you ask for. Then I reviewed and looked at the 2025R. Larger tires, more lift capacity on loader and stronger hoe. I wanted a tractor that could do it all and the 2025R was the one for me. I like the larger tires more stability less tipsy when going though woods to reach fields where I do food plots for deer. I purchased mine with the 130H loader(Quick Attach) and 270A backhoe. (Quick Attach) I LOVE this tractor. I have a 3 point 5 ' finish mower and a 5' brush hog and it handles them with ease. The backhoe has great power and you don't have to take off 3 point to install it. The 3 point is needed to hook it up. That's another key feature over the 1025R. I have nothing against the 1025R it is a bit more fancy nicer seat 12volt outlet storage compartment but the 2025R is more of a work tractor and all those extras could be added if you feel there necessary well worth the extra $$$$. For better lift and stability. I hope this helps anyone that's stuck between the 1025R and the 2025R like I was. But if your still not sure. I never heard anyone say I wish I Bought a smaller tractor.

Pros

  • quick connect h130 loader
  • 3 point stays on tractor to connect 270a backhoe
  • step though floor board
  • easy to check fluids
  • stability with large tires.

Cons

  • no arms on seat
  • no tool box for pins etc.

Great Tractor

5/5

Owned a 1023E and traded up to the 2025r and it was a very good move. This tractor is the all around package. Small enough to cut grass with, but packs enough hydraulic and PTO power to do most anything I need it todo, from grading, rotary mowing, and seeding. Only found one thing I am a little disappointed with and that is what you have to go through to get to the main drive shaft front U joint grease fitting up by the engine. Wish they would have put the access panel through the lower dash pane, so you didn't have to loosen the whole dash to move it out of the way to get to it, but that is the only thing I have found that i don't care for. I defiantly give this tractor an A+. Great little machine.

Seems well built, but watch out....

4/5

With 60 hours on my new 2025R I was mowing a pasture with a flail mower on the rear when things went wrong. No belly mower was mounted underneath, and Deere for whatever reason does not install a guard to shield the 4' long propeller shaft that extends from the transmission to the front axle. Grass and weeds wrapped around the shaft building up the diameter until clearance around the shaft was gone. At that point the side pressure snapped off the splined stub that sticks out the front of the transmission where the shaft connects. It's a major repair which fortunately was covered by warranty. But there's still nothing to protect the shaft from this happening again. IMO, this is a serious oversight on Deere's part. What am I supposed to do now, install a mirror so I can keep track of it from the driver's seat? If not for the fact that I own other JD equipment that has served well my rating would not have been as generous.
