Precision ag technologies have changed the way we farm, and John Deere has been at the forefront of that change. Adding the GreenStar™ ready or AutoTrac™ ready option to a Gator Utility Vehicle brings precision ag technology to farms of all sizes.
The GreenStar ready option provides a basic precision ag technology solution enabling you to utilize the vehicle’s fast speed, light weight, and nimbleness to establish boundary lines, even when the soil is too wet for larger equipment.
The GreenStar ready option code includes factory-installed components:
A StarFire receiver is required and can be installed year-round or shared with another piece of equipment.
A universal display or G5e CommandCenter™ Display is also required. A universal display can be shared with other pieces of equipment, while a G5e CommandCenter Display remains with the utility vehicle year-round.
The GreenStar ready option also requires a JDLink™ modem to connect your utility vehicle to the John Deere Operations Center™:
Bring another level of productivity to your farm by adding an AutoTrac assisted steering system to your Gator Utility Vehicle. In addition to the benefits of the GreenStar ready, the AutoTrac ready option enables hands-free steering and includes an ISO implement connector.
Stop waiting for the perfect day to spray
Improve soil mapping
Checkout your boundaries to reduce planting hassles
The optional receiver locking bracket provides protection from against theft or tampering by securing the receiver using a 15.875-mm (5/8-in.) lockable receiver hitch pin (sold separately).
Enhance your basic AutoTrac assisted steering system with AutoPath. AutoPath transforms farming operations by providing precise, automated guidance for the entire field, regardless of the season or crop type. With AutoPath, you can expect improved productivity, higher yields, and overall greater operational efficiency.
AutoPath plans can be generated in one of two ways:
Gator utility vehicles can use AutoPath (rows) to steer themselves accurately between planted crop rows, preventing crop damage. This enables the driver to work quicker and more efficiently while concentrating on field tasks such as spot spraying, crop, rock, or pest scouting, even before emergence.
Utilize a Gator Utility Vehicle’s fast speed, light weight, and agility to drive around and map the perimeter of your fields. This can be done in conjunction with a StarFire Receiver and Gen 4 or G5 display. These accurate and robust boundaries can support AutoPath (boundaries) plans and autonomy in the future. Once the field boundary is established and an AutoPath plan is created with reference to the boundary using the Operations Center or within the display, Gators can efficiently navigate the entire field, reaping the same benefits mentioned earlier.
AutoPath requires a model year 2025 or newer vehicle, a G5 Advanced Universal software license (renews annually), and 24-1 or later GenOS software.

A stable vehicle starts with the design of the foundation; the full-size Gator™ XUVs have the most capable frame available in a high-performance utility vehicle.
Attributes that contribute to best-in-class stability:
Key elements of the frame include:
The heavy-duty frame provides the ultimate backbone for the XUV. The design has been proven through thousands of hours of durability testing in some of the most severe conditions.
The large cargo box on full-size Gator XUVs has a 454 kg (1000 lb) capacity so you can bring your gear, tools, and haul materials with confidence.
The large 524-L (18.5-cu ft) cargo box enables you to transport more with every trip. The cargo box is 139 cm (54.8 in.) wide which:
The cargo box is constructed from a structural composite material, eliminating corrosion. Molding the cargo box also allows for built-in features that enable the box to be quickly reconfigured for the unique needs of every job:
The manual cargo box can be unlatched and raised with a single handle. A gas assist cylinder aids in raising the box and a prop rod can hold the box in the upright position.
Power lift raises the cargo box with the press of a button and included in the select, premium, and ultimate comfort and convenience packages.
The tailgate is designed to be a portable workbench. It includes:
When the tailgate is positioned at a 50-degree angle, the gap between the tailgate and the cargo box widens allowing debris to fall through so it doesn’t prevent the cargo box from closing.
The tailgate has a center latch handle and single-handed use. Standard lanyards can be removed to open the tailgate to 150 degrees. The tailgate can be detached using a screw driver and removing one bolt.
The tailgate is embossed with the Gator wordmark giving an automotive appearance. Optional label kits are available to color the wordmark.
A 12-V power port in the cargo box can be used to neatly provide power to attachments like a spreader or sprayer. The power port is:
| Length | 1099 mm (43.3 in.) |
| Width | 1392 mm (54.8 in.) |
| Depth | 343 mm (13.5 in.) |
| Volume | 524 L (18.5 cu ft) |
| Weight capacity | 454 kg (1000 lb) |
CAUTION: Carrying extra-long cargo that extends beyond the box can adversely affect stability.
*Class is defined as a full-size heavy-duty crossover UTV with less than 100-in. wheelbase which is powered by a 750 to 900cc gasoline engine. Comparisons were made by calculating volume using published cargo box dimensions.

The JDLink M Modem regularly transmits the location and operational status of each vehicle in the fleet so you can monitor progress in Operations Center.
The modem regularly transmits the vehicle’s engine hours to inform maintenance planning and balance use.
Factory or custom maintenance plans can be established in Operations Center. Maintenance alerts are sent when engine hours reach maintenance intervals.
On select products, the modem reports the hours the vehicle spent working and idling. The Operations Center’s Machine Analyzer tool reports usage data which allows you to analyze operator behavior, identify causes of low productivity, and initiate corrective actions.
On select products, the modem reports the fuel level. On these products, an analysis of fuel consumption is available in the Operations Center Machine Analyzer Tool. Measuring fuel consumption enables you to address causes of excessive fuel use.
On select products, the modem transmits the trouble codes generated by the vehicle’s control units to the Operations Center. Addressing DTCs can reduce downtime and repair costs. For example, a low-engine oil pressure DTC can indicate an engine is low on oil. Addressing the issue can prevent costly downtime and repairs.
To help address issues quickly, when a DTC is generated, the Operations Center can display a push notification on the mobile app and send an email. Operations Center can also be configured to limit notifications to stop-level severity DTCs.
On select products, John Deere dealers can perform remote diagnostics, software programming, and adjustments without the cost of a service call.
A JDLink Modem is included on:
A JDLink M Modem can be field installed on the Gator Utility Vehicles listed below. Field installation attachments simplify modem installation, and include mounting hardware, harness, and instructions. Field installation requires a JDLink M Modem to be ordered separately. The field installation attachments include a wiring harness therefore the modem should be ordered with the less harness option code.
